I hope you watched and liked the cooking video I put together. What you are going to read next are the entire making process of the video. I am going to start with how I got the idea of making these pancakes.
This was the 1st assignment after my school was forced back into online learning after a whopping 3 days of onsite learning. We were tasked to create a cooking video and write an accommodating description (the part you are reading now) to it. After understanding the task, I went ahead and start researching what I was going to cook. I began my research looking through the world-renowned chef Gordon Ramsay’s website. I spent 20 minutes clicking randomly into each recipe and reading through the prep time, ingredients, and instructions. Then it struck me, the time when I was supposed to cook, the time of my next lesson, is in the morning. I then thought to myself, what is good to eat for breakfast? Pancakes came to mind. I then went and chose the Peanut Butter and Jam pancakes recipe from his website due to its phenomenal photo. That’s how the PB&J pancakes became my final dish.
After I was done with my choice, the next step was preparing the ingredients. To be honest, I literally have not a single ingredient to make it lol. It was time to go get some groceries. Luckily, my house was close to a supermarket which has every ingredient needed for the recipe. Even though it took me 2 hours to crawl out from bed and go outside in essentially what feels like forever, I was able to do so. We went to the supermarket and took around half an hour looking around for things. I grabbed the banana first since it was near the entrance. The PB and jam were in the same section so that was easy. Then it was the pancake mix, I decided to go with the shake it all version since it was quick to make. Yogurt and eggs were at the exit, so we grabbed them last. This marks the end of our grocery trip; all the ingredients were acquired smoothly.
Moving on to the process of making them. I started cooking at around eight thirty in the morning. I had around 50 minutes to finish everything. I knew it wouldn’t be enough but at least it’s a start. After 50 minutes, I was nowhere near finished. The sauce, banana, and mix were done. Unfortunately, I only had time to cook 1 pancake. I went for a 2-lesson break before coming back during lunch time to finish frying the pancakes off. What I thought was going to be a 20-minute session turned out to be 40. Additionally, the video was also supposed to have the plate decoration process of the dish. Unluckily, forgot to hit record ;-;
Me and my mother finished off the dish during lunch time. It was better than expected. The sauce was very creamy, probably from the extensive and unbalanced amount of peanut butter. The banana also gave the dish some tint of freshness. It was the 1st time trying the dish and probably wouldn't be the last.
Then came the editing process. This took me around 2 hours. Most of the time was spent on cutting up the footage. I then added in the background music produced by LuKremBo. You can follow his music here. Another hour was spent adding in the, I hope, funny subtitles.
Overall, this was a very fun project to produce. Would I do it again would be another question. Thank you for watching and reading through my blog readers! See you next time.
