Ode to BLÅHAJ

A serious yet humorous ode made to my favorite type of doll.

Written in my G10 creative writing elective class, we were tasked to write an ode. This ode can be to anything we love and I have chosen the iconic Ikea shark Plushie. An ode we looked at in class also had some influence on this, the ode we looked at is called

Ikea sharks

The o mighty being of Sweden

The Scandinavian land of sheer cold

Bestowed upon the people by the immortal Odin

A mammoth Selachimorpha creature

Tops of its chain, governor of the ocean

Above all with its navy scales

Strokes of it swims across the shark’s body

Midnight colored eyes

Dark yet mesmerizing

Blankness fills its inners

Layers of sharp claws crowd its mouth

Magical spells of slumber

Will make you all lumber

All profession it will seek

Everything it will do

Experts of all it will become

Irresistible charming power of him

Attracts all

I renounce him
